Korean legends say that he was born of an egg and was the son of a god. Aside from the exaggerations, what remains true is that Ju-mong was a great king that unified the nations into one body, Goguryeo. Ju-mong (Song Il-gook) is born to Yu-hwa (Oh Yeon-su), the mistress of the king of Bu-yeo. But before she was the king’s mistress, she loved Hae Mo-su, a charismatic leader of the people, and Ju-mong is his son. Yet he grows up as the third prince, hated by the queen and his two older brothers, but loved by the king. On day, during a quest to find the legendary artifacts of the kingdom, his brothers plot against him and he nearly dies, only to be saved by So Seo-no (Han Hye-jin). He eventually falls in love with So Seo-no. Upon returning to the palace, Ju-mong must uncover the truth about his real father and become a true king to defeat the Chinese and unite everyone into one nation, Goguryeo.
